The stone that hit the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.

Daniel 2: 3

King Nebuchadnessar dreamed about a big tall man made out of metal. While he watched this big man, a rock came from somewhere and knocked it down. It broke in pieces.

When he woke up, he forgot what he had dreamed. God helped Daniel to tell king Nebuchadnezzar his dream. God helped Daniel to tell him what it meant too.

Each color on the metal man was to make him think. It was a symbol. The gold head was the kingdom of Babylon. The silver arms and chest pointed to the kingdom of Medo-Persia. This kingdom had not happened yet. King Nebuchadnezzar was learning about the future. He was learning about what was going to happen after several tomorrows.

The stomach and top of his legs were brass colored. This pointed to the kingdom of Greece. The iron legs pointed to Rome. The feet were made out of iron and clay. Iron and clay do not stick together very well. There were ten toes on this metal man. This part of the metal man told about the way the world was just before the big rock changed everything.

A big rock came and smashed the metal man. That big rock was to make king Nebuchadnezzar think about a King who would last forever.

Jesus is the King who takes over. In the dream He looked like a rock to make you think and think. A big rock does not change. It lasts and lasts. Jesus' kingdom lasts forever. There will never be an end to His kingdom. The Bible says Jesus is the rock of my salvation. You can read this in Psalms chapter 89, verse 26. His kingdom is made up of people who are loving and kind. Would you like to be ready when Jesus comes?
