Creation's Mystery

Lesson 16

He blessed the seventh day and set it apart as a special day, because ... He had completed His creation.

Genesis 2: 3

From new moon to new moon, and from Sabbath to Sabbath, all ... shall come to worship ... Me says the Lord.

Isaiah 66: 23

In the beginning, when God created the earth, the earth had nothing on it. There was just water (Genesis 1: 1&2)

DAY 1

Then God said, "Let there be light: -- and suddenly there was light. God was happy with what He saw. He made light during the day and darkness during the night. Evening and morning made the first day. We call the first day Sunday (Genesis 1: 3- 5).

DAY 2

Then God said, "Let there be two separate places for water. Some will be in the air and more will be in the rivers and oceans." Evening and morning made the second day. We call the second day Monday

(Genesis 1: 6- 8).

DAY 3

Then God said, "Let the land appear and let there be plants." So all kinds of plants came from the earth. Evening and morning were the third day. We call the third day Tuesday (Genesis 1: 9- 13).

DAY 4

Then God said, "Let there be light in the sky to separate the night from the day." The special lights are to make months, days and years. The sun was to make light for the daytime. The moon and stars were to make light at night. The evening and the morning were the fourth day. We call the fourth day Wednesday

(Genesis 1: 14- 19).

DAY 4

Then God said, "Let there be light in the sky to separate the night from the day." The special lights are to make months, days and years. The sun was to make light for the daytime. The moon and stars were to make light at night. The evening and the morning were the fourth day. We call the fourth day Wednesday (Genesis 1: 14- 19).

DAY 5

On the fifth day God said, "Let the water be filled with many kinds of living things, and let the air be filled with birds." God was pleased with what He saw. Evening and morning made the fifth day. We call the fifth day Thursday (Genesis 1: 20- 23).

DAY 6

The sixth day God said, "Let animals come from the earth." God was happy with all of the animals. God then said, "Let us make man in our own image. They will look like us." So God made a man and a woman. He told them to have children. He told them their work was to take care of the animals and fish. He gave them fruit and grain to eat. The animals were given plants to eat. Evening and morning made the sixth day. We call the sixth day Friday (Genesis 1: 26- 31).

DAY 7

The whole world was done. By the seventh day God stopped working. He blessed the seventh day and set it apart as a special day (Genesis 2: 1- 4).

The Bible says we will keep the Sabbath day in Heaven. "From new moon to new moon, and from Sabbath to Sabbath, all ... shall come to worship ... Me says the Lord." Isaiah 66: 23

The Sabbath is a special day where we can learn more about God. Nature is full of things that God made. By studying these we can learn things about God, the Creator.

Picking flowers is fun. Flowers make you feel happy. On Sabbath you can go for walks in colorful flower gardens. You can hike nature trails and gather flowers. Remember to thank God for the beautiful day of Sabbath rest. Also thanks Him for creating all the beautiful things. Think about the fun it will be in Heaven to go for walks with Jesus. It will be fun to keep the Sabbath with Him.
