This gallery is only of wild flowers and
birds in our woods. June & July
The woods have many bird nesting boxes and each has a little family filling the air with their songs. (blue birds and house finches) Eastern Washington |
2003 It seemed a great extravaganza of blossoms greeted us upon return from India. I wanted to share it with you. | The lovely birds making the air vocal with their happy songs, the delicately tinted flowers in their perfection perfuming the air, the lofty trees of the forest with their rich foliage of living green-- all testify to the tender, fatherly care of our God and to His desire to make His children happy.--SC 9, 10 (1892). {1MCP 248.1} |

He has filled the earth and air and sky with glimpses of beauty to tell you of His loving thought for you. {LHU 72.3} | The beauty of all created things is but a gleam from the shining of His glory. {LHU 72.3} | If He has lavished such infinite skill upon the things of nature, for your happiness and joy, can you doubt that He will give you every needed blessing? {LHU 72.3} |

The things of nature are the Lord's silent ministers, given to us to teach us spiritual truths. They speak to us of the love of God and declare the wisdom of the great Master Artist. {AH 146.3} I love the beautiful flowers. They are memories of Eden, pointing to the blessed country into which, if faithful, we shall soon enter. The Lord is leading my mind to the health-giving properties of the flowers and trees. {AH 147.1} 2003 |

Geranium Geranium oreganum
Geranium is Greek for "crane' Habitat: Moist open Pine forest near pond. |
"God is love," [1 JOHN 4:8.] is written upon every opening bud, upon the petals of every flower, and upon every spire of grass. CE 67 | 1998 | Their presence and influence will be to their associates as the fragrance of sweet flowers, because they are linked to God and heaven, and the purity and exalted loveliness of heaven are communicated through them to all that are brought within their influence. {FLB 235.5} |

Let us be as fragrant flowers. Let the love of Christ pervade your lives. Let your words be such that they will be as apples of gold in pictures of silver. {HP 177.5} |
As we come close to the heart of nature, Christ makes His presence real to us, and speaks to our hearts of His peace and love. {COL 25.1}
Christ Object Lessons
The only school-room for children from eight to ten years of age should be in the open air, amid the opening flowers and nature's beautiful scenery. And their only text book should be the treasures of nature. These lessons, imprinted upon the minds of young children amid the pleasant, attractive scenes of nature, will not be soon forgotten. {CE 8.4} |
Camas Lilies and larkspur |
Bitterroot
Covers the rocks where there is no soil. An amazing wild flower! It is so delicate yet when walked on seems not to mind much. Very difficult to dig the bulbs of this. |
Wild Iris |
The Majesty of heaven has pointed us to these things of God's creation as an evidence of His love. He who fashioned the flowers has said: "Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: and yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall He not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?" The Lord is our teacher, and under His instruction we may learn the most precious lessons from nature. {FE 319.2} |
It is the word of God that creates the flowers, and the same word will produce in you the graces of His Spirit. TMB 97 | The promises of God are like precious flowers scattered through a garden. The Lord would have us linger over them, looking closely into them, taking in their loveliness, and appreciating the favor that God has bestowed upon us by making such rich provisions for our needs. {HP 125.2} |
Arrow Leaf Balsa |
Our Saviour would not only have us discern the love of God displayed in the beautiful flowers about us, but He would have us learn from them lessons of
simplicity and of perfect faith and confidence in our heavenly Father. {HP 115.4} If God cares to make these inanimate things so beautiful, that will be cut down and perish in a day, how much more careful will He be to supply the needs of His obedient children, whose lives may be as enduring as eternity. How readily will He give them the adornment of His grace, the strength of wisdom, the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit. The love of God to man is incomprehensible, broad as the world, high as heaven, and as enduring as eternity. {HP 115.5} |
Wild Rose | Let us be as fragrant flowers. Let the love of Christ pervade your lives. Let your words be such that they will be as apples of gold in pictures of silver. {HP 177.5} | To those who love Christ, the Bible is as the garden of God; whose promises are as grateful to the heart as the fragrance of flowers to the senses. Then take up your Bibles, and with fresh interest, begin to study the sacred records of the Old and New Testaments. Work the field of precious truth, until you have a deeper comprehension of the mercy and love of God, who gave His only-begotten Son to the world, that through Him we might have life.--Lt 31, 1891. (SpTWWPP 32-34.) {PM 69.1} |
Two of my frost free hydrants broke during a hard freeze in winter. The slow underground drip has created a little creek that has brought so many blessings. In this dry region we never had cat tails and willows. I do not know how these began to grow for we did not plant them. Did birds carry the seeds? Did it come from the underground river that our well taps into? Who does these spontaneous plantings? I like to think Jesus sent them via bird or carried in the fur coat of the dog that likes to rest in the little trickle of water to cool off. |

We are to cultivate gratitude and love and praise in our hearts, that through his promises, richer than precious pearls, we may discern the purposes of God toward us.
{BEcho, April 1, 1889 par. 6} |
As the flowers gather for themselves the hidden properties of earth and air, and develop into things of beauty to delight our senses, so Christians are privileged to gather from the garden of God's promises, faith and hope, peace, joy, and support.
{BEcho, April 1, 1889 par. 6} |
They are to give out again to others a life fragrant with good works. {BEcho, April 1, 1889 par. 6} |

The grass withers, and the flower thereof falls away: but the word of the Lord endures forever." {FE 445.1} |
Mathew 10:31 Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows. |
The last and smallest house finch baby to leave the nest
was left behind on the ground for the dog to eat. It was rescued and cared
for. It's learning to fly. A little song about the sparrow was taught to
me when I was a little girl. It goes like this:
God sees the little sparrows fall, it meets His tender view, If God so loves the little bird, I know He loves me too. He loves me too, He loves me too, I know He loves me too. |

Look upon the beauty that still adorns the earth, its lofty trees, its carpet of living green, its endless variety of flowers of every tint and hue, colored by the skill of the great Master Artist. Is it rational, is it manly, is it honorable to accept the gifts, and not recognize and thank the Giver? The beauty that gladdens our earthly path should speak to our hearts of the love of God for his creatures. It is but a dim reflection of the brightness of the better land, yet unrevealed. By beholding this our minds are enabled to grasp the glories within, which "eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man," but which "God hath prepared for them that love him." {RH, October 16, 1883 par. 14} |

Among the professed children of God, there are men and women who love the world, and the things of the world, and these souls are being corrupted by worldly influences. The divine is being dropped out of their nature. As instruments of unrighteousness, they are working out the purposes of the enemy. {CS 177.1}
Continuation of above quote CS 177: In contrast with this
class, stands the honest, industrious poor man, who is ready to help those who need help, and willing to suffer wrong rather than manifest the close, acquisitive
spirit of the rich. This man esteems a clear conscience and right principles above the value of gold. He is ready to do all the good in his power. If some benevolent enterprise calls for money or for his labor, he is the first to respond, and often he goes far beyond his real ability, denying himself some needed good in order to carry out his benevolent purpose. {CS 177.2} |
