God's Remedy for a Cheated Man

Our newest addition to the flock is the Jacob's Sheep with 4 horns.  His name is Spotty.

Poor Jacob struggled to survive and feed his family when His boss kept cheating him out of wages.  He worked for his uncle. His uncle was not honest or fair.  Jacob had to sleep out on the ground and guard the flocks of sheep and goats and cows. Wild animals would try to eat the sheep and he had to fight them off. He was not comfortable at night as he slept out under the stars trying to keep the animals. Just when he thought he was getting something for his own family, Uncle Laban changed Jacob's wages and Jacob was kept very poor.

 Finally God showed Jacob in a dream how to genetically engineer it so he could gain a whole flock of spotted animals.  The contract was changed so poor Jacob could have the rare animals of the herd as payment for guarding, feeding and shepherding the flocks of uncle Laban.

Sheep love to eat sapling sticks. They are like candy to them. God showed Jacob in a dream what color of ram to keep longer at the watering trough by giving them candy to eat. He did this when the strongest ewes of the right color were there to drink. The breeding for spotted animals happened as God directed. A large flock of spotted animals were born a few months later.

This cute baby ram was found at "REFRESH" at the petting zoo.  The animals were from Colorado and traveling about for children to pet. We asked for permission to buy him and were thrilled this lady from Colorado obliged.

Spotty is Jenny's birthday gift.

In Genesis 30 you can read how Laban cheated Jacob on wages. This dream was God's solution to multiply spotted ones. There is a breed of sheep called Jacob's sheep. They sport 4 horns. Usually both male and female have these horns.

 Laban agreed to the plan for Jacob to have only spotted ones. Laban was probably laughing at the bargain. Then when the new lambs were born, Laban's sons suspected a trick for all the babies of the strong animals were spotted. They hated Jacob for it seemed God was multiplying his possessions. Then God sent Jacob's family away from Laban.
  God cares about the down trodden. He knows who has been cheated and robbed in this unfair world. Everyone is robbed of something. Some are robbed of joy, family love, love of friends, business opportunities, and of material things. Some are robbed of their reputation because someone makes up lies about them. Some are hated because they love and serve God doing mission work.  God sees it all. He has a solution for the worst problems we have to endure.
What a Great Shepherd we have. He prepares food on tables right in the presence of our enemies. He restores our souls. He binds up our wounds. What a God of gentleness, mercy and kindness! He dreams of making us successful. Our example of patience and gentleness during abuse can bring more souls to the kingdom of heaven.

Be generous and you will be prosperous. Help others and you will be helped. Prov. 11:25 If you refuse to listen to the cry of the poor your own cry will not be heard. Prov. 21:13 When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him. Isaiah 59:19  EW 60

12:20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
12:21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Meeting the family dog.

Your work will provide for your needs; you will be happy and prosperous. Your sons will be like young olive trees around your table. Ps. 128:2

When you pass through deep waters, I will be with you; your troubles will not overwhelm you. When you pass through fire, you will not be burned; the hard trials that come will not hurt you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy God of Israel, who saves you...Do not be afraid--I am with you. Is 43:2,5

Prayer turns aside the attacks of Satan. Christ Object Lessons p. 250

No One Can Injure Character as Much as We Ourselves.--We may expect that false reports will circulate about us; but if we follow a straight course, if we remain indifferent to these things, others will also be indifferent. Let us leave to God the care of our reputation. . . . Slander can be lived down by our manner of living; it is not lived down by words of indignation. Let our great anxiety be to act in the fear of God and show by our conduct that these reports are false. {2MCP 548.3}

 It is the weak trees and the tottering houses that need to be constantly propped. When we show ourselves so anxious to protect our reputation against attacks from the outside, we give the impression that it is not blameless before God and that it needs therefore to be continually bolstered up.--MS 24, 1887. We trust in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He is able to keep His promises to us. He wants us to be in good health and to prosper. He is not pleased when we are trampled. He treasures us as His gems.

Is 41:9 Let nothing terrify you. I will never abandon you. Those who are angry with you will know the shame of defeat.

Prov. 24:17 Don't be glad when your enemy meets disaster, the Lord will not like it and maybe won't punish him.

All the threatening against me of smashing in my face and the rage against me whenever he saw my Bible were seen in a different light when Dr. Kai was diagnosed as having a brain tumor. I had been through so much agony. I was relieved he was being punished till I found God is not happy with this attitude. Then I prayed for my enemy. He survived 9 hrs of brain tumor and returned to work as a family doc in the office next to my business. His rage only increased against me till he threatened to shoot me and my baby with his gun. Later he died on his farm but not until God had taught me to forgive and pray for this doc.

Prov. 12:25 Worry can rob you of happiness but kind words will cheer you up.

Don't be afraid

2 Chron. 30:12 The battle is the Lord's, you will not have to fight. Believe His prophets and you will succeed...When they began to sing, the Lord threw the invading armies into panic.

Prov. 13:12 When hope is crushed, the heart is crushed but a wish come true fills you with joy.

Prov. 20:18 Get good advice and you will succeed. Don't go charging into battle without a plan.

FREEDOM

Ex. 15:8 You blew on the sea and the water piled up high. It stood up straight like a wall; the deepest part became solid.

An escape was provided though the enemy pursued expecting to divide the wealth, the enemy was swallowed up.

Escape provided

"...if they realize their inability to help themselves, and trust wholly in God, He will provide a way of escape. There are times when it is necessary for men to be exposed to danger, and to be placed among corrupting influences, but a sense of their dependence on God will lead them to keep their hearts uplifted to Him in prayer every hour, for strength to resist and grace to overcome. The experience gained in these fierce conflicts fortifies the soul to pass unscathed through more trying ordeals. {ST, March 29, 1905 par. 9}
Christ prayed to His Father in behalf of His followers, "I pray not that Thou shouldst take them out of the world, but that Thou shouldst keep them from the evil." Sin and pollution abound on every hand, and daily, hourly, the prayer should ascend to heaven, "Deliver us from evil." The offering of this prayer by one who realizes his weakness makes the temptation of the enemy powerless. " Signs of the Times 1905

"Fret not thyself...the evil doers shall be cut off; but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth." Ps. 37:8,9

None that trust in Him shall be desolate. Ps. 34:22

"The most useful men are seldom appreciated. Those who have labored most actively and unselfishly for their fellow man, and who have been instrumental in achieving the greatest results, are often repaid with ingratitude and neglect. When such men find themselves set aside, their counsels slighted and despised, they may feel that they are suffering great injustice. But let them learn from the example of Samuel not to justify or vindicate themselves, unless the Spirit of God unmistakable prompts to such a course. Those who despise and reject the faithful servant of God, not merely show contempt for the man, but for the Master who sent them. It is God's words, His reproofs and counsel that are set at naught; His authority that is rejected." (Signs of the Times July 13, 1882)

"And whosoever will not receive you, when you go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them." Luke 9:5

There is wickedness in our world, but all the suffering is not the result of a perverted course of life. Job is brought distinctly before us as a man whom the Lord allowed Satan to afflict. The enemy stripped him of all he possessed; his family ties were broken; his children were taken from him. For a time his body was covered with loathsome sores, and he suffered greatly. His friends came to comfort him, but they tried to make him see that he was responsible, by his sinful course, for his afflictions. But he defended himself, and denied the charge, declaring, Miserable comforters are ye all. By seeking to make him guilty before God, and deserving of His punishment, they brought a grievous test upon him, and represented God in a false light; but Job did not swerve from his loyalty, and God rewarded His faithful servant (MS 22, 1898).

Jesus is praying for you

He looks upon His tried and suffering people, and prays for them. . . . Yes, He beholds His people in this world, which is a persecuting world, and all seared and marred with the curse, and [He] knows that they need all the divine resources of His sympathy and His love. Our Forerunner hath for us entered within the veil, and yet by the golden chain of love and truth, He is linked with His people in closest sympathy. {7BC 948.6}
He is making intercession for the most lowly, the most oppressed and suffering, for the most tried and tempted ones. With upraised hands He pleads, "I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands." God loves to hear, and responds to the pleadings of His Son . . . [Heb. 4:14-16 quoted] (RH Aug. 15, 1893). {7BC 948.7}
Fixing Our Eyes Upon Our Advocate.--In all our acts of true devotion, we fix our eye of faith upon our Advocate, who is standing between man and the eternal throne, waiting to meet our every effort, and by His Spirit assist us to a more perfect knowledge of God (MS 7, 1898). {7BC 948.8}

Isaiah 59:17 For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance [for] clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak.
59:18 According to [their] deeds, accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompense to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompense.
59:19 So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.
59:20 And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD.
59:21 As for me, this [is] my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that [is] upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.
