WHAT DOES GOD REQUIRE OF YOU? Deut. 10:12 & 13

10:12 And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,
10:13 To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?

1. Fear God . (respect, holding in highest honor, and loyalty)

2.Love God.

3. Serve God with all your heart and soul.

4. Keep the commandments.

5. Not forgetting to shew mercy and walk humbly. Mathew 22:36-40, Micah 6:8

Micah 6:8 He hath showed thee, O man, what [is] good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

Exodus Chapter 20

HERE ARE at least 11 fabulous promises for keeping all the commandments.

  1. You will have rain at the right time, enough grass for the animals, and your gardens will produce. (Deuteronomy 11)
  2. The fear of God will be on your enemies. Deut. 11:25
  3.  The Holy Spirit will always comfort. Jn 14:16
  4.   You will be full of joy. Jn 15:11
  5. YOU can ask God anything, and it will be given to you. Jn 15:7 (If you keep His commandments)..
  6. God will consider you HIS friends and you will always be loved by HIM. John 14:
  7. Your days will be multiplied on the earth. Deut. 11:21
  8. You will ride on the high places of the earth. Is. 58
  9. God will feed you with the heritage of Jacob (Is. 58)You will know what that means when the latter rain is poured out. It a larger measure the heritage of Jacob will be given when we enter the pearly gates of heaven. 3SM 260.3} (Jacob’s promise: In you shall all families of thee earth be blessed. )God will show Himself to you. John 14:21

10. YOU CAN LIVE IN HEAVEN. "Everyone that keepeth the Sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of My covenant; even them will I bring to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My house of prayer." Isaiah 56:2-7“[I saw] that we had a perfect right in the city for we had kept the commandments of God, and heaven, sweet heaven is our home.”  {Mar 245.2} I THINK THIS IS THE VERY BEST OF ALL PROMISES. To live with God forever in the land where there will never be sorrow, tears, death, or any pain. There will be no depression, or anger, or hate to deal with. All will be peace and joy. All of us will keep the 7th day Sabbath together from one Sabbath to another and from new moon to new moon.

11. YOU WILL RECEIVE SPECIAL MUSICAL TALENTS IN HARP PLAYING AND SINGING: Rev. 15:2,3 And John saw "them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God" and singing the song of Moses and the Lamb.

John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
WHAT ARE THE 10 COMMANDMENTS? A description of God's unchangeable character and ways of life and thinking. Ex. 20
20:1 And God spake all these words, saying,
20:2 I [am] the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness [of any thing] that [is] in heaven above, or that [is] in the earth beneath, or that [is] in the water under the earth:
20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God [am] a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth [generation] of them that hate me;
20:6 And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
20:7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
20:10 But the seventh day [is] the sabbath of the LORD thy God: [in it] thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that [is] within thy gates:
20:11 For [in] six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them [is], and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
20:12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
20:13 Thou shalt not kill.
20:14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.
20:15 Thou shalt not steal.
20:16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
20:17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that [is] thy neighbour's.
20:18 And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw [it], they removed, and stood afar off.

Moses kept this ten commandment law inside the ark in the Most Holy room. This very same original LAW OF GOD IS KEPT IN HEAVEN in the ark. John the Revelator saw it.

This law can never be changed by man. Every piece of it is important to God. All who keep it can have the gifts mentioned at the top of this page. God is a promise keeper.

This Most Holy Room was entered only once a year on the Day of Atonement. This tabernacle was a shadow of the temple in heaven where God is. John the Revelator saw this ark in the heavenly sanctuary with the ten commandments in it. This Day of Atonement ceremony was a prophecy of what Jesus is doing right now in heaven. When He finishes in this room, the door of mercy will close and He will come to this earth to gather His people.  This prophecy pointed to the judgment which started in 1844 as God reviewed the record books in heaven. Records are kept of what everyone does or says, even those things done in secret. The unchangeable ten commandment law is the same one in the ark in heaven. No human can change God's laws.

References: Hebrews 8:5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, [that] thou make all things according to the pattern showed to thee in the mount.

Revelation 11:19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.

Ten commandments on blue stones:

When Moses and the 70 elders went up and ate before God at Mt. Sinai, they saw God's glory. Look at how the Bible describes the sapphire they saw at His feet.

Exodus 24:9 Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel:
24:10 And they saw the God of Israel: and [there was] under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in [his] clearness.

The Lord asked the people to place a blue cord on their sleeves so that when they reached out to disobey the law, they would have a reminder whispering to them not to break the law of God.

Numbers 15:37 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
15:38 Speak unto the children of Israel, and bid them that they make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribband of blue:
15:39 And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the LORD, and do them; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring:
15:40 That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God.

No matter at what angle the commandments are looked upon, they are all teaching us how to be kind to each other.

"Thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes." Deut. 6:8. These words have a deep meaning. As the word of God is meditated upon and practiced, the whole man will be ennobled. In righteous and merciful dealing, the hands will reveal, as a signet, the principles of God's law. They will be kept clean from bribes, and from all that is corrupt and deceptive. They will be active in works of love and compassion. The eyes, directed toward a noble purpose, will be clear and true. The expressive countenance, the speaking eye, will testify to the blameless character of him who loves and honors the word of God.

The ark was to be carried on the shoulders of 4 priests. The outer covering of the ark was blue. All the other furniture had an outer covering that was dark skins. This blue was a signal of the holy law of God. It was inside that ark.

All the other pieces of furniture were covered with cloth and then the outside was draped with dark skins.

Numbers 4:5 And when the camp setteth forward, Aaron shall come, and his sons, and they shall take down the covering veil, and cover the ark of testimony with it:
4:6 And shall put thereon the covering of badgers' skins, and shall spread over [it] a cloth wholly of blue, and shall put in the staves thereof.

HOLINESS TO THE LORD.

 Blue on the Miter

On the miter there was to be made a blue lace to hold the gold plate to the white hat. The blue again symbolized that in the mind of the High Priest is written the law of God in it's original unchangeable form. That is the same law that is in heaven.
Exodus 28:37 And thou shalt put it on a blue lace, that it may be upon the mitre; upon the forefront of the mitre it shall be.
28:38 And it shall be upon Aaron's forehead, that Aaron may bear the iniquity of the holy things, which the children of Israel shall hallow in all their holy gifts; and it shall be always upon his forehead, that they may be accepted before the LORD.

Blue loops of cloth attached the breastplate to the belt and held it firmly there so that it was never loosed from the ephod. The commandments cannot be separated from the character of God. It never changes.

Exodus 28:28 And they shall bind the breastplate by the rings thereof unto the rings of the ephod with a lace of blue, that [it] may be above the curious girdle of the ephod, and that the breastplate be not loosed from the ephod.

50 blue loops linked curtains together

The Law of God links all of the the plan of salvation salvation together. It describes why God cared enough about us on this earth to make this sacrifice for us. He and Jesus had a common goal: to save us from the misery of breaking His law. Jesus took our punishment so that we could have eternal life. Exodus 26:4 And thou shalt make loops of blue upon the edge of the one curtain from the selvedge in the coupling; and likewise shalt thou make in the uttermost edge of [another] curtain, in the coupling of the second.
26:5 Fifty loops shalt thou make in the one curtain, and fifty loops shalt thou make in the edge of the curtain that [is] in the coupling of the second; that the loops may take hold one of another.

Under the ephod was a solid blue robe with a hem which had a bell and pomegranate alternating around it. Everywhere the priest moved, the bells sounded. All could hear him whether they could see him or not.  They knew just where he was.

The solid blue is a symbol of God's law. It never changes. No human can change His law. It is part of the description of His character. No human can change His character. God believes in being kind always.

He wants parents tenderly treated. He wants wives and husbands to be tenderly cherished and honored. He expects truth always. He wants us to be content with what we have. There must be no desire for the belongings of another person. He has poured out so much love on us, He deserves all our honor. He created this world and owns all that is here. He gives you strength to live. He set up an appointment every week to meet with you on Saturday the 7th day. He is king of the universe and the most powerful. He has always been alive. What a privilege that in His busy schedule, He set up a whole day to meet with us. If we love Him we will keep His commandments. Look at all the blessings promised to those who obey His commandments! When you obey, your prayers are answered, you are given Holy Spirit power, comfort, eternal life, special love from God, and communication from God. This is found in the following Bible texts:

John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
14:17 [Even] the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
14:18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
14:19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
14:20 At that day ye shall know that I [am] in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
God wrote these commands with his own finger on the stones.]

Deut. 11:22 For if ye shall diligently keep all these commandments which I command you, to do them, to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cleave unto him;
11:23 Then will the LORD drive out all these nations from before you, and ye shall possess greater nations and mightier than yourselves.
11:24 Every place whereon the soles of your feet shall tread shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even unto the uttermost sea shall your coast be.
11:25 There shall no man be able to stand before you: [for] the LORD your God shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you upon all the land that ye shall tread upon, as he hath said unto you.
11:26 Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse;
11:27 A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day:
11:28 And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.

Look at these red, blue and purple fruits that hang from the symbol of the 10 commandments.

At the bottom of the blue robe were figures of red, blue, and purple shaded pomegranates. This was not just decoration.

Jesus was making a statement again about the importance of keeping His commandments. All who believe in Him, keep the blue commandments. These are the original commandments that never change. No human can change these.

 These pomegranates were fastened to the blue robe. They hung from it. Do you see this beautiful truth? All the seed of Abraham obey God's law. If you are hanging from a different cloth, my friend, I suggest you change to this one. This is the only one whereby we can be saved. The seventh day is the Sabbath of the commandments. Keep it holy and be included in God's family. How could His light be more plain?

John 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
15:11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and [that] your joy might be full.
15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
15:14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
Some have never seen inside a pomegranate. I sliced this and scanned it for you to see inside. Notice all the red seeds each in a case of red juice. The seeds are like all who have faith in Jesus and His blood covering our sins of breaking the law, will be as the seed of Abraham. We can inherit eternal life through faith in what Jesus has done and is doing for us, and by obeying his law. You see, faith without works is dead. Believe on the Lord Jesus, keep all of His commandments, my friend and be saved.

James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

You are seed of Abraham if you believe in and obey Jesus.

To Abraham was given the promise that of his line the Saviour of the world should come: "In thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed." "He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ." Genesis 22:18; Galatians 3:16. {AA 222.2}

Galations 3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
3:29 "And if ye [be] Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise."  Here is our HOPE. We are seeds who obey the commandments and have faith in Jesus.

God teaches that we should assemble in His house to cultivate the attributes of perfect love. This will fit the dwellers of earth for the mansions that Christ has gone to prepare for all who love Him. There they will assemble in the sanctuary from Sabbath to Sabbath, from one new moon to another, to unite in loftiest strains of song, in praise and thanksgiving to Him who sits upon the throne, and to the Lamb for ever and ever.

Isaiah 66:22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.
66:23 And it shall come to pass, [that] from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.

In the last days, God will place the conclusive evidence where all can see the truth. Don't wait till you see this in the sky to believe and obey. It will be too late. Today is the day of our salvation. Soon probation will close and he that is holy and following God's law will always be that way. And he that is disobeying will continue doing that.

This issue over the commandments is the BIG TEST all will have. If you are loyal to Jesus, you will choose to obey. If you are loyal to customs and tradition and the popular vote, you will obey the laws that countries will make demanding that you keep Sunday as the changed yet true Sabbath. My friend, as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. I want the promised blessings from heaven. I do not care what people think about me. It is more important to me to know that I am right with God. It is more important to me that I honor the KING OF THE UNIVERSE who created all things and asked me to keep HIS law recorded in Exodus 20.

"Then there appears against the sky a hand holding two tables of stone folded together. Says the prophet, "The heavens shall declare His righteousness; for God is judge himself." [PS. 50:6.] That holy law, God's righteousness, that amid thunder and flame was proclaimed from Sinai as the guide of life, is now revealed to men as the rule of judgment. The hand opens the tables, and there are seen the precepts of the Decalogue, traced as with a pen of fire. The words are so plain that all can read them. Memory is aroused, the darkness of superstition and heresy is swept from every mind, and God's ten words, brief, comprehensive, and authoritative, are presented to the view of all the inhabitants of the earth. {GC88 639.1}
It is impossible to describe the horror and despair of those who have trampled upon God's holy requirements." GC 639
