Ocean Front Ministry

We were one of many speakers in some meetings in Chirala.  Martin Luther Sastry invited me. We  stayed in a Lutheran compound where there is a nice school. It is peaceful and quiet here. Meetings were going on all day and I have a few spots among the many invited preachers. We were very comfortable and gained our much needed rest. The Bay of Bengal was near by. It’s salty ocean beaches had many treasures for the children to discover.

  We were treated so warmly and respectfully. The people enjoy my presentations. My messages and testimony  were well received. I spoke of the coming judgment and of heaven and shared my own personal testimony.
  To give me courage to come on this mission 2 hours to Chirala, brother Rao agreed to accompany me. He helped them understand what we could eat and drink.

  We continue to pray for the needs they have and want special prayer for daily.

 Kyle loved studying Revelation with Brother Rao.

The breezes off the sea were so cool and wonderful for the repairing we needed to do. We rested so nicely. Praise God. The Bay of Bengal is supposedly visible from the roof but we did not see it till our hosts took us there by their jeep.

Sabbath Jenny and I each spoke for the 10 AM meeting and then went to the SDA church and I spoke the "divine service". After eating lunch, we spent the day in nature walking along the ocean front of the Bay of Bengal. Shells were abundant and the kids filled up my hat. We walked 6 kilometers and had such a relaxing time. The kids chased the red sand crabs that scurried into their little den holes. Then the tide was coming in and they were trying to grab shells before the waves did.

  All toes were enjoying the warm salt water until a fisherman pointed in warning at something ahead of us. There was a snake head above the surf. Each time the waves came in it swam out but was washed back up on shore. We were informed how poisonous these sea serpents are. I had no idea of the danger lurking in the water or I would have watched my children’s every foot step. In mercy God protected us in our innocence. Again we had the promise that we could even tread on snakes and they would not harm us.

"I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you."  {DA 490.4} This means we have power over Satan and also over any danger like snakes in our path. The snake is a symbol of Satan.

     The omnipotent power of the Holy Spirit is the defense of every contrite soul. Not one that in penitence and faith has claimed His protection will Christ permit to pass under the enemy's power. The Saviour is by the side of His tempted and tried ones. With Him there can be no such thing as failure, loss, impossibility, or defeat; we can do all things through Him who strengthens us. DA 490

Luke 10:19.  {AG 257.1}

     Fallen man is Satan's lawful captive. The mission of Christ was to rescue him from the power of his great adversary. Man is naturally inclined to follow Satan's suggestions, and he cannot successfully resist so terrible a foe unless Christ, the mighty Conqueror, dwells in him, guiding his desires, and giving him strength. God alone can limit the power of Satan. . . . Satan knows better than God's people the power that they can have over him when their strength is in Christ. When they humbly entreat the mighty Conqueror for help, the weakest believer in the truth, relying firmly upon Christ, can successfully repulse Satan and all his host. . . .  {AG 257.2}

     Satan will call to his aid legions of his angels to oppose the advance of even one soul, and, if possible, wrest it from the hand of Christ. . . . But if the one in danger perseveres, and in his helplessness casts himself upon the merits of the blood of Christ, our Saviour listens to the earnest prayer of faith, and sends a reinforcement of those angels that excel in strength to deliver him. Satan cannot endure to have his powerful rival appealed to, for he fears and trembles before His strength and majesty. At the sound of fervent prayer, Satan's whole host trembles.  {AG 257.3}
