Daily we pray for these web sites (larom .org and illustratedbible.com )
that many will be encouraged to trust in God and to study their Bibles
more. One day while praying that God would increase the number of site
visits, I was impressed with something I read in Malachi 3 and 4 that I
should share the answers to prayer that I have had.
It has increased the faith of others as they read what God has done for me. It took hundreds of hours of reading old journals of mine and scanning in the pictures in those journals. Yet while doing this review of my life, I have gained a picture of ways God has led. I had never looked at the big picture before. There are 87 answers to prayer written on larom.org and on this site there are more than 53 of personal experiences. The miracle happened in my own heart. My faith has increased. That was not exactly what I prayed for but by drawing closer to Jesus, He can draw more to Him through my witness. I have tasted and seen that the Lord is good. I love Him and praise Him for He never fails. Great is His faithfulness. Morning by morning new mercies I see. All I have needed, His hand has provided. Great is His faithfulness. |
Psalms 34:4 I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. 34:5 They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed. 34:6 This poor man (woman) cried, and the LORD heard [him](her), and saved him(her) out of all his(her) troubles. 34:7 The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. 34:8 O taste and see that the LORD [is] good: blessed [is] the man [that] trusteth in him. |
Psalms 40:10 I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy loving kindness and thy truth from the great congregation. |
Lamentations 3:20 My soul hath [them] still in remembrance, and is humbled in me. 3:21 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. 3:22 [It is of] the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 3:23 [They are] new every morning: great [is] thy faithfulness. 3:24 The LORD [is] my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. 3:25 The LORD [is] good unto them that wait for him, to the soul [that] seeketh him. 3:26 [It is] good that [a man] should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD. |
I have kept
record books of my answers to prayer. God has
generously granted and responded to my cries for help in so many ways. I
praise His name for His faithfulness to me. When I am discouraged, this
record inspires me. The Lord urged me to also put the other categories up; the tears He wiped
away, the pain He soothed, the anxieties removed, the blessings supplied.
These reveal the rounded out whole picture.
Malachi 3:16 "Then they that feared the Lord spoke often one to another: and the Lord harkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon His name. vs. 17 And they shall be mine, says the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spares his own son that serves him. "Every deliverance, every blessing, that God in the past has granted to His people, should be kept fresh in memory's hall as a sure pledge of further and richer, increasing blessings that He will bestow. The Lord's blessings are adapted to the needs of His people. " MS 65, 1912; Manuscript by Ellen White A sure pledge means the Almighty Powerful King of the Universe will come through with what He promises. Conditions met, He pours out blessings. Don't break His heart and ignore His conditions of obedience. He can hardly wait to give you what you asked for more abundantly than you ever dreamed to ask for.

Let us not cast away our confidence, but have firm assurance, firmer than ever before.
"Hitherto hath the Lord helped us," and He will help us to the end (1 Sam. 7:12).
Let us look to the monumental pillars, reminders of what the Lord has done to comfort us and to save us from the hand of the destroyer. Let us keep fresh in our memory all the tender mercies that God has shown us --the tears He has wiped away, the pains He has soothed, the anxieties removed, the fears dispelled, the wants supplied, the blessings bestowed--thus strengthening ourselves for all that is before us through the remainder of our pilgrimage. {CC 364.3} We cannot but look forward to new perplexities in the coming conflict, but we may look on what is past as well as on what is to come, and say, "Hitherto hath the Lord helped us." "As thy days, so shall thy strength be" (Deut. 33:25). The trial will not exceed the strength that shall be given us to bear it. Then let us take up our work just where we find it, believing that whatever may come, strength proportionate to the trial will be given. {CC 364.4} Conflict and Courage by Ellen White; also Steps to Christ, p. 125 |
There are an amazing
variety of ways God communicates to humans: Animal and bird parade at the
time of Noah, Balaam's talking donkey, Gideon's fleece, Urim and Thumin on
God's high priest breast plate for yes and no answers, Pillar of cloud,
Dream of barley loaf rolling into camp, burning bush, burning food Gideon
offered the angel, moving branches of mulberry trees, mirage of blood in
water trenches, hail, fire, thunder, grasshoppers, oppressive painful
darkness, water to blood, frogs, earthquakes, wind, blinding light flashes
to Saul on way to Damascus, light over sanctuary ark, vine growing up for
shade over Jonah, big fish submarine carrier of unwilling prophet, events
of streams and rivers parting to let God's people through, heavy
iron ax floats on water, poisonous water turned sweet with salt, poisonous
soup made harmless, specific words from enemy's mouth for Jonathan's
signal, hand writing on the wall, rainbow signal of hope ... and the list
goes on. God has spoken to me in
many ways. I have claimed the promise of Isaiah 30:20 And [though] the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers: And He has directed the
path through out my life.
Psalms 121:8 Lord guards going and coming, keeps my soul and protects from
all evil If I regard iniquity the Lord will not hear me but He has heard… Isaiah 66 I praise and honor the God of heaven, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. My God. The ONE who has always been and always will be. The ONE who designed the 10 commandments for perfect relationships. The ONE who expects obedience. I give my everything to HIM. My time, my talents, my problems, my inadequacies and imperfections, my profession, my education, my goals, and He brings me great joy and satisfaction. In the same way as my husband gives me signals of his care for me over the past 30 years, there is variety in the ways God shows His concerns and directions for my life. My favorite way of getting love signals from my husband is red roses, hugs, and help. I have favorite ways that God answers me that I ask for more than other ways. I can think of 17 different ways He has has spoken to me. My favorite is listed last. The stories are endless. You can find them all in the two web sites on answered prayers. There's over 131 stories written. 1. He gives just the
right promise for the needs of the day. 2. He leads to counsel
just right for the problem at hand. While praying and asking for Divine
counsel, God often helps my Bible pages to be turned just perfect for
the needed promise or directives. 3. He sent hail and
thunder from the sky exactly when I spoke word hail while preaching the
gospel about the plagues of judgment. 4. Rocks. Another signal
to me from heaven happened with a few flat rocks that never had any snow
on them because I told Him they were a symbol of my hope that He would
soon answer me with a TV cabin studio to film programs for children.
This little stack of flat rocks were piled up as a signal to heaven I
trust in His leading. 5. God helped me in my
marriage decision at age 19 by leading the evangelism team pastor to
share ways that God speaks to us. He said dedicated godly parents can
speak for God to us. Then God reminded me of these words while I prayed
out under a tree. This sign of words from the mouth of others showed me
what to do. 6. Providential leadings.
God has timed the sale of our home, business office, sale of front lawn
to a neighbor and many other incidents. His wisdom in timing is crucial
to the best outcome. Once He had a pastor in India send the preferred
date for gospel meetings while I prayed for God to tell me when to go.
He used the hand of this India pastor asking for meetings. When I said
"amen", the email was there even though the day and nights are
opposite on the other side of the world. 7. Impressions to pray for others in danger. Strong impressions have come to pray for people in danger like my brother doing missionary work in New Guinea. His school was being caught on fire and I did not know just had a strong impression to pray. God kept them safe in the violent uprising. Another time God asked me to pray for my son Kyle. I did and in a few minutes he had been held at knife point. 8. Expressions of His love are seen in flowers He created. He placed roses in every valley of my life. (literally and emotionally) 9. In bird songs 10 Beauties of nature all show His care and handiwork. 11. He has always provided food for myself and my family. (Even when we went through job losses, critical health issues where I faced death and had to hold still in bed for months during pregnancy, and bankruptcy) 12. He has always provided shelter. (Even during bankruptcy when we lived in tents, we had tents. We had land to put the tents on, and a car to go crowd into when the rain drenched our beds)
13. He provided friends who loved us and would visit us when living in tents and a poor leaky shelter. He did this when family turned from us during our losses. He provided pets with unconditional love to fill the emptiness. Loving arms of friends were God's arms about us. 14. God has placed His body guard about me, protected, carried me, and fed my soul to the brim with happiness. He has used humans to help.
15. He strengthened me when I had no more energy to work for Him. 16. He kept me cool in 130 degree weather in India, wearing 5 garments of sanctuary teaching robes of the high priest. Birds were falling from the trees, bats also fell dead. People were dying from the heat but He kept me so only felt the extreme heat on my face. God communicated His love and presence in these ways. 17. He gave rainbows to comfort during our tears and storms of life. He who formed the laws of physics can do as He likes to tell Noah not to worry about his children. (Gen. 9:12-17 sign of God's covenant); to declare to the prophet John that Jesus is in control Rev. 10:1; to be above each praying saint in the end . The rainbow comforts God's praying people and alarms and frightens the unbelievers. (GC p. 347) This rainbow,
though counterfeit meanings have been applied, will be above the coming
King Jesus in the clouds as a witness it is Jesus not the imposter in
the sky. In answer to the prayer of faith, God has placed rainbows as a
signal to answer my request for directives.

In
1994 I was shown by my husband's auntie Bonnie, the promise in
Desire of Ages on page 493. I was surprised the rainbow meant more than
just no flood would again cover the earth. I kept reading all I could find
on this in the Bible and writings of Ellen White. As I studied, I was
thrilled over the great loving heart of God.
It also means God heard our prayers and is working on them. It means He has mercy for us. It means He will never forget us. |
When I shared the promises of God's symbol of hope with
a dying friend Darlene Mullen, God gave her a rainbow.
God gave a rainbow for my dear friend and missionary companion Nan Stagl while her husband was dying of cancer. I developed the pictures in large prints in one hour developing and gave them for her to hold through her grief recovery. When I shared the promises with a friend who's baby had died of trisomy 18 like my baby Jerry, God gave her a rainbow at the grave site. When I learned and shared the promises with the widow of my lawyer and friend, she was comforted. God gave a special rainbow at the time of his burial which I filmed not having even the knowledge of his passing till the next day. This picture was comfort to the widow. When I missed my airplane in Moscow because brothers failed me, God sent rainbows to comfort and helped reschedule flight home. My son Kyle had a rainbow specially bright when he chose to be baptized and while we were driving to the nursery to purchase a grape plant to remind him to act like Caleb and Joshua forgiving those who wanted to stone him and urging all to believe in Jesus anyway. Son Kyle and I also had a rainbow answers when we asked in 1997 if this bare rocky land was the place for us to buy and build as our homestead. We have a living God who is very near and dear to His people on this earth. He will never leave or forsake them in their time of need. He is closer in the valleys and loves to be leaned on. His eyes search through out the whole earth for anyone who will believe and obey Him. He will never allow His Bible believing, obedient children to be deceived by Satan. In Isaiah 4:5 there is a promise of more signals. There will even be another emblem as in the Old Testament wilderness experience with Jesus present in the cloudy pillar. I have seen a pillar of cloud lit up like a rainbow that happened when I was returning home after a seminar on the sanctuary. It was a reminder of that promise in Isaiah 4:5 and helped comfort me when no one had come to help with the take down and putting away of the materials. I am confident in our living personal God who wants to answer anyone who will trust Him. |
