Prayer answers.
This is a continuation of our 85 stories of answered prayer from web site www.larom.org |
My husband had three times last year (2001) when he hurt so bad on his head near his right eye. It hurt so bad for many days so that he couldn't do much of anything but just sit. He kept working at the hospital but did not try to get much shifts to work. |
By Christmas time, the pain was so bad, he stumbled when
he walked. We were all worried about him. For six weeks he had this pain
and finally he asked if I would call the pastor to pray for him
and anoint him. God
instructs us that it's our privilege to do this. (James)
The pastor called together several leaders of
his church and they prayed sincere heartfelt prayers. Each one asked God
to forgive all sins in their lives. Each one pleaded with God to heal Ron
or else strengthen him for his trial of pain.
James 5:13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. |
After the special prayer, the pain slowly began to be less. During the 9 weeks of pain, he promised God he would do more for His work and would give his life to God more fully. He has not told me all he promised, but by the time his brain scan was scheduled, he did not have much pain. |
God worked it out so a doctor of radiology agreed to read his scan for no pay. The hospital agreed to have the scan done free and so did the company that operated the truck containing the scanner. This was such a blessing. |
Everyone that has been praying for Ron is so thankful
that the brain scan is normal and no tumor is present. One of his many
scan pictures is included here in case you have never seen an MRI.
(Magnetic Resonance Imaging)
We are so thankful also that Ron seldom has any pain. Now and then he has just a tiny amount. It is a reminder to him of his promises and he is so thankful for God's answer to our prayers. |
We give God all the praise and glory for He alone is powerful enough to help when we pray. Now we are free to go on the mission trip into India that we wanted to do. We have been invited to visit 3 orphanages. We have some seeds for the orphans to grow gardens. We're gathering color books and crayons, and things to bring them joy. We want to get them a good supply of rice and medicines when we get there. |
Nurse Barbara plans to bring her oldest child along to help in clinics. Husband and son Shawn will stay home and pray for our safety. |
We
will be doing free medical clinics and providing medicines and vitamins
etc as needed and as funds last. Nurse Barbara is going along as well as our children to help and
learn what they can. Jenny is the most excited for she wishes for a
sister. She wants to be a nurse. She knows we can not adopt any children
but we can make friends in India. That way she can have many
"sisters".
Our children do blood pressures, temperatures, vision screenings, and whatever clinic job we can give them. We hope to have 300 or more eye glasses to give as needed. |
One little school orphanage in this area pictured has 60 young people. God has answered our prayers about whether we should go now. It is such a privilege to get to work on God's love projects. |
Our
children help put on a program each evening that will include the English
version of Mathew word for word video enactment of the life of Jesus.
Nurse Barbara will present health talks. Then our 5 children have costumes in which they will tell a Bible story and use computer graphics to add to their story. After that, we have a program 1. Story of Baby Moses becoming a man 2. Story of Pharaoh of Egypt and rods turn to snakes 3. Bible story of the plagues 4. The Exodus story with the opening of the Red Sea 5. The story of the Manna & Water from the Rock 6. The Quail story and grumblers story 7.Story of Golden Calf & the Ten Commandments broken |
After video, children's part, and health talk, we are prepared to teach some Bible verse songs. Then Dr. Rose does the program of the Old Testament Sanctuary series describing the Exodus, Leviticus and Numbers story as told in God's drama. This is more than a story. This model is made up by following every detail in the Bible books just mentioned. This amazing walk through model has traveled with us into Russia, Borneo, Mexico on many trips. God has used this to touch many hearts with how special Jesus was to give HIS life to save us from our sins. Children grasp these truths so fast when they see this. It only takes 7-8 sessions and they are upset when we put it away and leave. Parents tell us five years and 8 years later that their children still talk about the experience. They see, hear (lamb calls and bells etc), taste (flat bread and grape juice), and touch, and smell (incense) of the lessons of the sanctuary. They never forget Jesus the LAMB after this experience. |
The
color graphics in this heaven designed drama capture the imagination and
show each of us how special we are to God. Every detail has meanings which
challenge all levels of students of the Bible. It is the most fun topic
for me because all ages in the audience are attentive. From very small
children to people in their 90's this topic is full of new things each
time you study it.
This 7 day section of programs is part of a larger set of programs we have done in Russia and other countries over a 3 week and 6 week time frame. Longer programs include more health talks, first aid classes, cooking classes, etc. In order to take in three orphanages, we are prepared to give 12-15 evening programs and free medical clinics daily. |
Faith
Adventures in sharing the Bible truths and doing free medical clinics
started for Dr. Rose after she lost a baby in 1990 and then she had
a dream on Dec. 1,2,and 3 of 1992. The story of this is on www.larom.org
