More Promises for the missionary of the last days |
Daniel 12:3 "They that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. Revelation 12:1"... a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of 12 stars." |
Both women and men are needed to teach God's love to the world. If you are wise and love God, you will shine. |
The true mother is the true teacher of children. If with a heart imbued with the love of Christ, she teaches the children of her class, praying with them and for them, she may see souls converted, and gathered into the fold of Christ. Daughters of God p. 18 |
When truth takes hold of the heart, the man gives sure evidence of this by becoming a steward of the grace of Christ. {TM 121.2} The heart of the true Christian is imbued with true love, with a most earnest hunger for souls. He is not at rest until he is doing all that is in his power to seek and to save that which is lost. Time and strength are spent; toilsome work is not shunned. Others must be given the truth which has brought to his own soul such gladness and peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. {TM 122.1} When the truly converted soul enjoys the love of God, he will feel his obligation to yoke up with Christ and work in harmony with Him. The Spirit of Christ rests upon him. He reveals the Saviour's love, pity, and compassion, because he is one with Christ. He yearns to bring others to Jesus. His heart is melted with tenderness as he sees the peril of the souls that are out of Christ. He watches for souls as one that must give an account. With invitations and pleadings mingled with assurances of the promises of God, he seeks to win souls to Christ; and it is registered in the books of record. He is a laborer together with God. {TM 122.2} Is not God the proper object of imitation? It should be the work of the Christian's life to put on Christ, and to bring himself to a more perfect likeness of Christ. The sons and daughters of God are to advance in their resemblance to Christ, our pattern. Daily they are to behold His glory, and contemplate His incomparable excellence. Tender, true, and full of compassion, they are to pull souls out of the fire, hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. Testimonies to Ministers p. 121-122 by Ellen White |
As the stars for ever and ever: what does
it mean?
"They that turn many to righteousness" shall shine "as the stars for ever and
ever" (Dan. 12:3). That is how we shall shine. The glory of God will rest upon you. You cannot become interested in a soul but that an
angel of God will be close at your side and will move that soul. {2SAT 18.2}

The Brightness is only from God. Nothing in us can do this. How can I shine brighter? How can I reflect His light brighter? Remember
in purifying the silver, the more impurities removed, the more it
reflects? 1.
Pray for it. Pray for sanctification of His Spirit 2.
Walk closely 3. Willing obedience to all His commandments and recommendations, ignore nothing. Strive to follow all health rules, all policies no matter how difficult. He will help. 4. Willingly love even the unloving, the poor, the handicapped, the outcast, and love the rich, and the hateful. I Corinthians 13 5.
Place self where God can enlighten 6.
Look
to Jesus 7. Make God your dependence 7.
Go forth unconscious of brightness, looking to Jesus not self, making no

When the day dawns, the light is faint and subdued; but as the sun rises, its light increases and strengthens, until its rays reach the perfect day. This is the way in which the Christian's light is to increase. We are to know more of Christ today than we knew yesterday; we are to grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour; we are to trust him more in trial and difficulty, looking to him as the author and finisher of our faith. In sorrow and temptation we are to realize that he is touched with the feeling of our infirmities; that he was a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; that he was wounded for our transgressions, and by his stripes we are healed. {RH, April 14, 1891 par. 12} Christ has promised, "Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out." He will hear and answer our prayers, and faith appropriates the rich promises of God, believing they are for us. As we accept the promises of God, we grow stronger in faith, and find the word of the Lord fulfilled as he has spoken it. We may feel our weakness and unworthiness, and because of this, realize our dependence upon God. Every one of us can have a rich experience in the things of God if we will utterly forsake our sin and submit ourselves to God" RH, April 14, 1891 par. 2 |
“He who places himself where God can enlighten him, advances, as it
were, from the partial
obscurity of dawn to the full radiance of noonday. {AA 564.2}
"These things saith He that holdeth the seven stars in His
right hand." Revelation 2:1. These words are spoken to the teachers
in the church--those entrusted by God with weighty responsibilities. The
sweet influences that are to be abundant in the church are bound up with
God's ministers, who are to reveal the love of Christ. The stars of
heaven are under His control. He fills them with light. He guides and
directs their movements. If He did not do this, they would become fallen
stars. So with His ministers. They are but instruments in His hands, and
all the good they accomplish is done through His power. Through them His
light is to shine forth. The Saviour is to be their efficiency. If they will look to Him as He looked to the Father they
will be enabled to do His work. As they make God their dependence, He
will give them His brightness to reflect to the world.

If willing obedience and true love characterize the lives of the people of God, their light will shine with a holy brightness to the world. {2T 442.2} |
Those light bearers shed forth the purest radiance that are the least conscious of their own brightness, as those flowers diffuse the sweetest fragrance that make the least display. {5T 75.1} |

{Ev 413.1} Our efforts
are not to be confined to a few places where the light has become so
abundant that it is not appreciated. The gospel message is to be
proclaimed to all nations and kindreds and tongues and
peoples.--Testimonies, vol. 8, p. 40. (1904)
{Ev 413.2} The more closely believers have walked with God, the more clearly and
powerfully they have testified of their Redeemer's love and of His
saving grace. The men and women who through the long centuries of
persecution and trial enjoyed a large measure of the presence of the
Spirit in their lives, have stood as signs and wonders in the world. {AG

To Belt the World.--God has qualified His people to enlighten the world. He has entrusted men with faculties that adapt them to extend and accomplish a work that will belt the world.
