Healthy heart Pizza

Delicious Whole Wheat Bread for crust of Healthy Heart Pizza

3 C warm water

1/2 c honey

1/2 cup olive oil

1 Tbsp redstar instant yeast

1 heaping Tablespoon wheat germ 

3 1/2 Cups whole wheat flour (best fresh ground whole wheat)

3/4 Cup Do pep also called gluten flour

Beat well or place in bread mixer for 20 minutes of processing on "dough" setting. Then add 3 teaspoons salt.

Add in another cup  to a cup and a half of fresh ground whole wheat.

Knead another  5-10 minutes. Let rise again and form into 2 large pizza crusts. Let it rise as high as you want it to be after baking. Find a warm place for the bread to rise. Cover with a moist clean linen and remove slowly when ready to place in oven or your bread will fall.

 

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake for 9-14 minutes. Watch carefully. Then turn oven down to 300  f

Healthy Heart Tofu Cheese
"Tofu Cheese topping"
Into blender combine
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp dill weed
1/4 garlic clove
1 pkg.of tofu (mori-nu silken) Discard water out of box and place tofu in blender.
1 little tiny jar of canned red sweet peppers (pimento) (adds color)
1/2 cup of sesame seeds (provides rich cheesy flavor) Hint: (Whiz this one first and it will end up smoother.)
2 Tablespoons of yeast flakes
1 tsp chicken ish seasoning
1/2 C cooked corn meal   OR 1 hot boiled potato (helps thicken and adds volume to sauce)
1 tsp lemon juice concentrate

Chill and place on pizza when toppings are on and you are ready to put into the oven.

 

Healthy Toppings we like:

 Sweet peppers red, orange, and yellow

mushrooms,

Pineapple chunks

olives

Healthy Heart Tofu cheese

 

Here is a way to make the same thing very fast. It takes 5 minutes and then oven time of 14 minutes.

Simply place on bread and slip into the oven.

Serve Pizza with Salad and try these yummy dressings

Olive Dressing

1/3 cup  lemon juice
1/3 cup honey
1/3 cup Extra Virgin olive oil
1 garlic clove minced
1 tablespoon minced onion
1/2 teaspoon basil
1 teaspoon oregano
1 tablespoon Braggs liguid aminos
(nonfermented soy sauce)

Mix together and allow to sit several
hours before use if possible . Do not
refrigerate, store in cool dark place.

This is the best salad dressing ever!

 

Almond and Tofu "ranch" style Dressing

¾ c almonds

1 ½ c water

Blend up these items well then add the next ingredients.

1 silken morinu tofu

1 ½ tsp lemon juice

¼ tsp Onion powder

½ tsp sea salt

¼ clove garlic

½ tsp dill

Directions: place all in blender and add ½ c more water if you desire a more liquid dressing. Chill and serve.

Optional: add avocado

 

Jenny's Favorite Treat:

Peanut butter cookies

Ingredients for peanut butter cookies:

1/4 C honey

2 Tablespoons olive oil

1/2 tsp vanilla powder (using powder avoids the alcohol)

1Tablespoon gluten flour

1/4 tsp salt

1Tablespoon sunflowers (ground up)

1/2 C whole wheat flour

1/2 Cup Barley flour or millet flour (make sure this flour is fine)

2-3 Tablespoons Peanut butter

2/3 Cup Date pieces softened by boiling in 1/2-2/3 cup water

Directions: stir well, shape into round balls then gently push down to 1/4 inch high with 3 fingers or a fork. This will make a nice round shape to cookies.

Bake at 300-350 for 10-15 minutes
