Meatless Balls Italiano
These meatless balls are easy and look great served on top of Spaghetti.


1C bread crumbs (2 slices whole wheat toast)

1/2 cup chopped nuts (pecan or walnut)

4 Tablespoons of cooked garbanzos or chick blended smooth

1/4 tsp. garlic powder

1/4 c sesame seeds blended smooth with the milk portion of recipe

3 Tablespoons of rice or soy milk

1/2 tsp. oregano

1/2 c oatmeal

2 Tablespoons nutritional yeast

1 small onion

Mix and bake in oven at 400 degrees F for 15 minutes. Turn and bake again 20 minutes more. Serve on spaghetti with tomato sauce.

Tomato sauce:

2 Cans cooked tomatoes (one pound)

1 C onion, chopped

1/2 clove garlic

1/2 C. green pepper

1/4 tsp. sweet basil,

pinch of oregano

1 tsp salt

1-3 Tablespoons honey (Depending on how ripe the tomatoes)

2 Tablespoons. olive oil


1 tsp parsley


In a deep kettle, heat oil. Add onion and garlic and sauté lightly, about 4 minutes. Add the rest of ingredients and let it simmer uncovered for about half an hour.
