Healthy Heart Cheese 

Here is a great healthy no saturated fat recipe for "cheese" sauce. Our teenagers enjoyed this so much they each took 3 bowlfuls.

This one does not use tofu. This works great for macaroni or rice or over vegetables like broccoli. 

While experimenting with ways to use up a 5 gallon supply of corn meal given to me, I learned this is a great delicious base for making better butter, and "cheese" sauces.
Recipe for Healthy Heart Cheese:

1 c Very hot water

1/2 C almonds

Blend these together in blender while you gather the rest of the ingredients. For the creamiest texture, let the blender run for 5-10 minutes.

Next add into blender:

1/4 C sesame seeds ( cheese flavor)

1 tsp salt

1 T corn starch

1 T lemon juice

3 T liquid aminos (non alcoholic form of soy sauce)

2 Cups hot cooked corn meal

1 jar pimentos

1 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp garlic powder

Drain macaroni, pour sauce into the kettle and let it simmer the last 3 minutes of macaroni cooking time.

Yields: 4 C sauce
