Meetings in Congo PROGRESS REPORT
Dear Friends and Family
TEXT: 1 Cor. 1:25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
1:26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, [are called]:
1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
1:28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, [yea], and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:

Over and over this text ran through my mind every time I felt like I was not worth anything in my work. What can I do to make a difference for eternity? How can I bring honor to God today? My sanctuary is very simple and humble. There is not even any bronze paper available to cover the tin bucket used to represent the laver. The table just sits there on top of boards covering the baptistery. People wonder why it is there. Oh how I long for the beautiful set that Arnold made in Philippines. There are no screws available to put the table of showbread together. They fell out of the bag during travel when a hole was made while loading and unloading off planes.

God has chosen these simple methods to prepare the faith of His people for the final events.

More than 550 people were present last night our second night and the radio is broadcasting the program immediately following it. This brings more people in to clinic and meetings. The clinic was packed with patients. We saw at least 25 in 3 hours in spite of the language barrier. I am praying to learn French and Swahili. I could tend to patients so much faster. One man almost cried when he was unable to get in to see me yesterday. He had come 40 kilometers. Some of that was walking. He wanted to see. He was developing cloudiness in his right eye. I took him to where we stayed and found a pair of glasses to help him a little.

There was only 30 minutes left to eat lunch, change and set up for meeting. Jenny had 5 rows of children packed in so tightly and constantly moving. I counted over 25 per row. Then up in the balcony there were many more.

More later from Congo
